A foggy day over the castle
I have been away from illustration friday for a little while and it is good to be back. In the meen time I have been working on animations. They are so time consuming.

Animation
I'm animating again, and this time with my own blog new animation blog at http://animationbay.blogspot.com and this is the first animation I uploaded..
One thing that I find annoying about blogger is that it converts animated gifs into jpegs and so renders them lifeless, I'
m hosting the animations at metacafe right now as a workaround. They are a profit sharing alternative to youtube and my stuff seems to get more views as well.

Latest work, produced for a client
Update: The client chose the version with a robot as the I in the youtube channel name the logo is intended for ( http://www.youtube.com/user/SimChao ).
I think it's a great idea and I hope they like the finished image. I'll update this post one way or the other. The image here has the dragon bat studios watermark which will of course not be a part of the final logo.

create custom t-shirts at Zazzle
I saw this widget working on the penciljack site and was impressed but it seems to be taking an awful long time to load on my site. No idea why.

Skrimshaw page1
It is available on a portfolio website to buy as well, who knows, perhaps it will be a project that I will be able to keep up with. I hope so.

Imagekind
Here is another site I have discovered who will act as an outlet for my art. This first image I have placed on the site is a nice drawing of a fantasy pirate castle which I have had some positive feedback on over the years.

My t-shirt designs to buy at redbubble.
I am having a lot of fun creating these t-shirt designs and could probably even do t-shirt designs to order if required. This is all part of my effort to start making money from my alleged creative talents over the internet. The desgns are fun to create and I have received a lot of encouraging feedback about them.
The Coffee Goblin
Uploading the image is giving me a bit of a problem, seven tries and still no luck. The uploader isn't very reliable with my dodgy 3modem in another country connection to the internet. The connection keeps dropping out, probably for just seconds at a time, but the uploader doesn't seem to be able to cope. I'll give up and just save this as a draft. Hey, I waited five minutes and bingo, it worked. No idea why but I should just be happy I guess.
Ironing Man
I have always been a big fan of Iron Man, and this may not be a great reason but, because of the cool way he holds his hand out in a "talk to the hand" gesture and his palm blaster shoots a cool beam out. I am particularly proud of this illustration because I have included a scan of a bit of fabric as the cover for the ironing board, I think it works well and looks nice, I have spared a couple of thoughts to the copyright situation but I'm fairly sure that an image like this which is sending something up is OK. I'm still in Australia after 5 months on holiday but I'm going to be back in the UK soon. It'll be good to see the old place again I guess.

A little pink fish
I really like this design and I am toying with the idea of producing versions in different cvolours.
The Spiral Cat Bat Super Guy
This is an image I created to primarily be sold as a t-shirt design on redbubble.
I think it looks great as a t-shirt but I'm not entirely sure who would be interested in..
...wearing it. It isn't as comercial as I hoped when I first designed it. I'm going to have to concentrate more on designs which more people would be interested in I think. I really made it first as a logo for a site talking about comic books which I thought I could create but after my last visit to a comic book store it's dawned on me how hoplessly out of touch with the genre I am. It might be fun to reaquaint myself with it and write about the journey.
Primitive Frog Gods
The characters come from a short science fiction story that I started to write but didn't finnish at the fantastical fabulist. Now that I'm looking at this image again I have the feeling that I would like to create a coloured version, watch this space. Although I can't promise to ever get round to it, it's so difficult to do all the stuff you want.
The overnighted owl
people who are American or are resident in the USA or something like that. It's not finnished yet because I have been really busy enjoying my prolonged holiday. But I thought it was interesting as an unfinnished image and I'll post the finnished version at some later time.

It's a blue fairy
I have been thinking that I will be using this space, this blog as a portfolio and organising through the tags so it might happen that the design changes from time to time depending on whether I think a children's publisher or games company is looking at it.
