Ironing Man

I just saw the trailor for Iron Man the movie last night and was moved to respond in my own artistic fashion. And of course it is available to buy as a tshirt design at redbubble, just click the button.

I have always been a big fan of Iron Man, and this may not be a great reason but, because of the cool way he holds his hand out in a "talk to the hand" gesture and his palm blaster shoots a cool beam out. I am particularly proud of this illustration because I have included a scan of a bit of fabric as the cover for the ironing board, I think it works well and looks nice, I have spared a couple of thoughts to the copyright situation but I'm fairly sure that an image like this which is sending something up is OK. I'm still in Australia after 5 months on holiday but I'm going to be back in the UK soon. It'll be good to see the old place again I guess.

A little pink fish

Another t-shirt design for redbubble. Redbubble mutes the colours as can be seen in their add below to reflevct the colours on a printed t-shirt more accurately.

I really like this design and I am toying with the idea of producing versions in different cvolours.

The Spiral Cat Bat Super Guy

This is an image I created to primarily be sold as a t-shirt design on redbubble.

I think it looks great as a t-shirt but I'm not entirely sure who would be interested in..

...wearing it. It isn't as comercial as I hoped when I first designed it. I'm going to have to concentrate more on designs which more people would be interested in I think. I really made it first as a logo for a site talking about comic books which I thought I could create but after my last visit to a comic book store it's dawned on me how hoplessly out of touch with the genre I am. It might be fun to reaquaint myself with it and write about the journey.

Primitive Frog Gods

This image immediately jumped to mind when I read that the word on illustration friday was Primitive.

The characters come from a short science fiction story that I started to write but didn't finnish at the fantastical fabulist. Now that I'm looking at this image again I have the feeling that I would like to create a coloured version, watch this space. Although I can't promise to ever get round to it, it's so difficult to do all the stuff you want.

The overnighted owl

This was an idea I put together for an American competition before I read the small print and found out that it was only open to

people who are American or are resident in the USA or something like that. It's not finnished yet because I have been really busy enjoying my prolonged holiday. But I thought it was interesting as an unfinnished image and I'll post the finnished version at some later time.

Another t-shirt design, this one a sick bunny

I did the sketch for this design this morning. I saw a stain on a wall (I let my imagination play with it, just as Leonardo Da Vinci recomends in order to prompt creativity) and it looked a bit like a sick bunny. I drew it in my sketch book, worked on it with photoshop and here it is. This design is available to Buy t-shirts
I am really enjoying doing these designs for red bubble it gives me a great incentie to do work. The blogging and other sites have me busier at the sketch pad drawing board etc. than ever before. I am in Australia right now and the wall stain was at a marina on Pott's Point in Sydney.

It's a blue fairy

I have been thinking about tshirt designs since I sold a tshirt design on redbubble recently. here is the illustration I put together for my latest design

I have been thinking that I will be using this space, this blog as a portfolio and organising through the tags so it might happen that the design changes from time to time depending on whether I think a children's publisher or games company is looking at it.
